Musing; Father's Day
The debate on the vast number of Mother's Days celebrated the world over is not novel. Every time I heard a complaint about how many days a year a mother is celebrated, inside of me, I smiled. How many birthdays does one person get in a year? It is common knowledge that Father's Day comes up in June. If there's any other day taken out to celebrate fathers, it really is generally not as pronounced as the June celebration (I know in some countries, the date varies). So, like the special day set aside to celebrate individuals annually, fathers get their day.
Being a father is not an easy job. Today, I throw a huge salute the way of all the responsible and awesome fathers out there. Being a father is far more than just being the one that deposited the sperm.
Thank you fathers for being responsible.
Thank you for being visible.
Thank you for caring.
Thank you for staying.
Thank you for giving your best shot.
Thank you for awesome leadership.
Thank you for loving the mothers.
Thank you for loving the children.
Thank you for security.
Thank you for listening.
Thank you for the strong arms.
Thank you for wise counsel.
Thank you for showing good examples.
Thank you for being the wind beneath the sail.
Thank you for being you.
We cannot say thank you enough, to the fathers that have been a positive influence on their families and others they come across. Today, we celebrate you. Today we doff our hats for you.
I celebrate specially, my father. Thank you for all you've been.
