Musing: Thankful For November
Every single day that dawns, we should be thankful. I won't start listing what you should be thankful for. Just take a look around you, the myriad of reasons surround you. And for those who still don't see it, this day dawned upon the month of thanksgiving!
It doesn't matter what January to October have been. Personally, October was a really challenging month for me, but I chose and still choose to see it as a blessing. Lessons learnt, praises rise.
In the last ten months, have you had something happen to you that looked like a scene straight out of a movie? Have you had that gut wrenching experience that feels like a tonne of iron was off loaded on your heart? You have? Did your health head for the drain-pipe? It might have, but you're here today, you can read this. I know it can feel like the end of the world. I know the pain is sometimes so deep you find tears and they don't come. But I also know that the peace that passes all understanding is there to sail you through. The power pain has over you is the one you give it.
Joy is a choice, happiness, its product. The choice to be joyful or not lies entirely with you. Why don't you choose to name this month differently? Breathe in the fresh air, embrace the beauty around you. A new day signifies a new start. A fresh month signifies an opportunity to start again.
This too shall pass.
