Lyrics of The Day - NIGERIA by Funmi Adams
I could not find a picture of Funmi Adams, but that won't stop her evergreen song from being featured today. I grew up on that song - beautiful video too. This is one beautiful gift Aunty Funmi gave to this country.
First Stanza
I know a lot about my country
I know a lot because I care
I know a lot about the people
I know a lot because I’m here
Chorus:
Nigeria, my beloved country
Working together is the key
Nigeria, my beloved country, our future is you and me
Second Stanza
Land of iron, land of coal
Agriculture, oil and coal
They are assets that we own
Round the world, our name is known
Third Stanza
I know we have a great potential
To do more than just survive
Let’s build up our strength and pride
Trust in God to be our God
First Stanza

I know a lot about the people
I know a lot because I’m here

ReplyDeleteReally great song. Good job 'FiyinfOlu.
ReplyDeleteThis 9th day of July that I'm listening to 3 stanzas of this music, now that everything is going haywire in the Executive and Legislature probably suggesting that the common interest will soon break down due to the general clamour for restructuring in the country. I feel nostalgic for the first time about the the anticipated rhetorical break up. May God bless Nigeria ijmn Amen
