Different Ways To Dry Your Hair

Good news for those on a healthy hair journey. There are many options to get the job done. The right option on the other hand, is dictated by how your hair reacts. That being said, many options have been tried over the years as a way to test out the best way to dry the hair and minimize the damage. Some options provide faster results and others are healthier alternatives. While drying your hair may not seem like a big thing, you have to remember that every strand counts! If health is what you are after, think about the necessary precautions you must take.

Hair Dryer
The hair dryer has been a go to option for years. This option is the quickest and most convenient way to get your hair dry.

The downside to it is that it is not the most healthy way to get the job done. Using a blow dryer introduces a lot of direct heat to your hair, which can lead to heat damage with continued use. To avoid heat damage when using this method, you can opt to dry hair using cool air. Although this will take longer than using warm/hot air, it will prove more beneficial in the long run. You can use this method to either diffuse your curls or stretch out your hair if you are looking to do a certain style.

Air Drying
Air drying is another healthy choice for drying your hair. It is beneficial to those who do wash and go and want to keep their curls intact. The downside to this is that it takes forever to dry.

Towel Dry
Towel drying is a method that has been around for a long time. Depending on the kind of towel you use, it will determine how much water is
absorbed from your hair. One benefit of this method is that you are able to go about your business without having to be confined to a space to dry your hair. On the down side, towel drying can cause breakage as the cotton fibers rub against your hair. Many women try different options built on this idea.

T-Shirt
The idea of the t-shirt method is that it is as absorbent as a towel, but cuts down on the frizz and risk of breakage. Another benefit to this method is that it is less bulky than a regular towel. The t-shirt method has proven to work well for both relaxed and natural ladies. For some curly girls, it works wonders!

Microfiber
The microfiber material is a selling point on its own. When this fiber comes in contact with your hair it is said to be more gentle and reduce the risk of split ends.

Sko Towel
The Sko Towel has fabric similar to that of a microfiber towel, and on the other side is a satin like material that faces your hair. The risk of your hair getting damaged with this towel is very low and it absorbs a ton of water from your hair.
Clearly a healthier alternative than blow drying but also just as time consuming as using other towels. Of all the towel options the Sko Towel is the healthiest option.

If your goal is to simply dry your hair, any of these methods will work for you. If you want to go a step further and take into account the health of your hair on your journey, test out any of these options and see what works best for you.

Your hairstyle and the point you are at in your hair journey will determine what the best option for you is. There is really no one size fits all choice here.
