I've come across some little girls with hairstyles that were not age appropriate. From fixing of weavon that extended way down their backs to box braids that were almost floor length. Apart from the extra load these kids are forced to lug around, it restricts their freedom to be the kids they are - they can't play freely, as their hair gets in the way.

| Wow! Such load to carry! |
Another danger many mothers, especially, don't consider is that of pedophiles. You've got your little girl all glammed up, sometimes makeup is thrown in the picture, she looks older than she really is and someone out there, a sick someone, is looking at your baby girl inappropriately. These kids do not need this kind of unnecessary exposure. There's enough danger they face daily, than to add making them targets for pedophiles. They're cute enough as they are!

How excited does she look?

I've seen some kiddies pageant and it didn't look right at all. These children have a lifetime ahead of them to be adults. They will be adults for much longer than they will be children, let them enjoy their childhood.

So unfair

So, having considered what is not appropriate for children, I include some pictures of hairstyles your princess can rock, still looking beautiful, age appropriate and not cut them off their childhood experiences. I don't really subscribe to adding hair extensions to children's hair, but some of the styles require some extensions. As long as they're used moderately, I'll say go! go!! go!!!
Activity: Can you spot which hairstyles have extensions in them?
Don't you just love these pretty pretty girls?
