Musing; Tell Your Heart To Beat Again

"Tell your heart to beat again
Close your eyes and breathe it in
Let the shadows fall away
You’ll live to love another day
Yesterday’s a closing door
And you don’t live there anymore
So say goodbye to where you’ve been
And tell your heart to beat again"

This is the chorus of a song I love so so much. It plays on repeat in my head on a regular basis.
Life has its ups and downs, definitely. Things happen that we wish never did, people say things to us that shred the fabrics of our humanness and self esteem, we have experiences that gut us. Yes, that's life.

A woman gets stood up at the altar or is dumped for another, days to her wedding, and she decides ALL men are the same, shuts her heart to love again.

A man is scorned by one woman and he goes on revenge mission to hurt and break the hearts of ALL women he comes across.

An individual is abandoned by their parent(s) and grew up toughly struggling to survive, they then decide to unleash terror on as many people as they can.

Someone gets sacked from their job for upholding the truth, and they decide to run a fraud syndicate.

Listen up. Those that hurt you made a decision. It was a bad decision. You should not retaliate by making a worse decision. You are who you make yourself. Taking wrong decisions is not the fault of anyone, it is entirely yours and you're responsible for it(them).

Yes, I know you might have been stung by love, tell your heart to beat again! Don't lose your joy or your essence. Don't let the light in you die. Open up to love again. You will only do it better this time around, because of lessons you would have learnt from the previous. And before you say "easy for you to say, you don't know how it feels", oh yes I do know how it feels. I've had a fair share of that baptism.

You lost a promising job? Tell your heart to beat again. That organization was not deserving of you in the first place, move on to greater heights.
You've lost a pregnancy, or pregnancies? Oh, I know the pain of that, but, let the shadows fall away. Be bold to try again and be very optimistic about it. You will carry your child(ren).

You have suffered parental neglect, forgive them. Yesterday is a closing door and you don't live there anymore. Make a decision to be the best parent ever. Going rogue isn't the way out, that road just leads to more pain. By all means, cry if you have to. Bleed yourself of your pain and then, move on.

Grow a beautiful garden in the once parched land in your life. Give the world a gift of beauty from a life that was expected to go downhill, and exude a healing aroma. You don't have to follow the norm, pave a fresh and new way. Say goodbye to where you've been, and tell your heart to beat again!
