Yes, Nigeria is 55 today and I'm really glad. 

I believe in Nigeria.

The Nigeria I believe in is that of honest citizens.
The Nigeria I believe in is one that protects her children.
The Nigeria I believe in defends her women.
The Nigeria I believe in gives her men great role models.
The Nigeria I believe in is rich in all things.
The Nigeria I believe in is prudent and honest.
The Nigeria I believe in is beautiful.
The Nigeria I believe in is a land of great opportunities.
The Nigeria I believe in produces great leaders.
The Nigeria I believe in loves her citizens.
The Nigeria I believe in is God fearing.
The Nigeria I believe in is steadily developing.
The Nigeria I believe in is one where brothers look out for each other, irrespective of geographical boundaries.
The Nigeria I believe in is one where the system works.
The Nigeria I believe in is one of probity and accountability.
The Nigeria I believe in is one of equal opportunities.
The Nigeria I believe in is where justice is served and upheld.
The Nigeria I believe in is where peace reigns.

I don't know what you see. I don't care what you've heard. I'm disregarding what negative experiences you might have had in Nigeria or with Nigerians. I apologize on behalf of my countrymen where pain has been caused. But I urge you to look on this graceful country with an eye of promise.

Nigeria is great! She has had setbacks and terribly rough patches, but like a Phoenix rising out of the flames and ashes of destruction, Nigeria is soaring again. I love this nation with a passion that is indescribable and may be considered insane. Yet, I love her. 

I celebrate my Fatherland today. I salute the giant of Africa. I raise my glass to toast to the new dawn that has risen upon my nation.
